AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Overview
Key Features
Just like the RX 9070, the RX 9070 XT is also powered by AMD's new RDNA 4 architecture. It also features AI-powered FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4), offering machine learning-driven upscaling and frame generation. FSR 4 is exclusive to RDNA 4 GPUs, with support in games that integrate FSR 3.1, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as mentioned in the previously written article.
The GPU is built on a 4nm process, promising improved power efficiency and better performance. Additionally, it includes second-gen AI accelerators and third-gen ray-tracing accelerators for enhanced visuals and AI-based tasks.
Performance
AMD hints that the RX 9070 XT competes with Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti in terms of performance. Getting into the nitty gritty, there's a total of 53.9 billion transistors with 4096 stream processors and 64 compute units. The RX 9070 XT can hit a peak clock of 2.97 GHz with a base frequency of 2.4 GHz. It's got a plentiful 16GB of VRAM with a 256-bit bus providing a maximum theoretical bandwidth of 640 GB/s. Compared to it's non-XT sibling, the RX 9070 XT chugs in an extra 60W at a rating of 304W.
AMD’s Adrenalin software for the RX 9070 XT features new AI-powered tools. These tools include image generation, document summarization, and a chatbot that can assist with graphics settings.
