The last time we checked in with Coolpad was back in 2021 with its Cool 12A. Since then, it has not announced anything interesting for us to cover. Finally, the company has made its comeback by announcing the CP12 Neo as an entry-level smartphone which is now also available in Nepal. It comes with 128GB of storage and a 5,000 mAh battery. In this article, we will discuss the Coolpad CP12 Neo, including its specifications and expected price in Nepal.

Coolpad CP12 Neo Overview

Design and Display

The Coolpad CP12 Neo has a dual-tone design with two distinct sections on the back. The top part has straight lines with a pill-shaped island that holds two cameras and an LED flash, while the bottom section has a sleek finish with the “Coolpad” logo. The phone comes in four colors: Platinum Black, Dream Blue, Cherry Pink, and Space Gray.

On the front, it features a 6.65-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. At 450 nits of brightness, the display should be decent for everyday use though it may not be the brightest in direct sunlight. The waterdrop notch on the top holds the front camera.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the CP12 Neo is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A1 octa-core processor. It includes four Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.6GHz and another four Cortex A55 cores running at 1.2GHz. On the graphics end, the phone is equipped with the PowerVR GE8322 GPU.

You can choose between 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64 GB or 128GB of storage, with the option to expand the storage via a microSD card. It runs on CoolOS which is based on Android 14. For power, the CP12 Neo packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging support.

Camera and Features

The CP12 Neo comes with a 13MP main camera on the back, supported by a 0.08MP auxiliary module for depth sensing and a 5MP sensor on the front. It may not be the most advanced camera setup, but for an entry-level device it should handle everyday photos just fine. The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick access along with other sensors like an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and compass.
