Huawei has launched the Mate 80 series in China, with the Mate 80 Pro Max as the top-of-the-line model. The series introduces flat displays, squared-off edges, and a distinctive circular camera design. Among these, the Pro Max stands out with the largest screen, the most powerful chipset, and extensive camera and battery features. Display and Design

The Mate 80 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display with FHD+ resolution (2848 × 1320), a 1–120Hz LTPO refresh rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and touch sampling at 300Hz. The screen displays over 1 billion colors with a wide P3 gamut and is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass. On the design side, Huawei uses a full-metal build with a double-ring rear design, which is available in Polar Day Gold, Aurora Green/Blue, Polar Silver, and Polar Night Black. Plus, It weighs around 239g and measures 164.4 × 79 × 8.25mm and comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings.

Performance and Memory

Now coming to performance, the Mate 80 Pro Max features the same Kirin 9030 Pro chipset featured in the Mate X7, which was launched alongside. The Pro Max offers 16GB RAM and 512GB or 1TB storage options, with no memory expansion. The device also supports “Extreme Power Saving Mode” and several satellite and outdoor tools for navigation and communication.

Camera System

The rear setup includes a 50MP main camera (SOMP Ultra HDR, OIS, RYYB), a 40MP ultra-wide lens (RYYB), a 50MP macro telephoto (OIS, RYYB), and a 50MP super telephoto camera (OIS, RYYB).
