Last year, Apple spaced out the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro releases. This time, they dropped both together, each packing the new M5 chip. The iPad Pro (2025) comes in your choice of 11-inch and 13-inch sizes in Nepal. Now, let's dive in!
iPad Pro M5 (2025) Overview
M5 Chip
The M5's 10-core CPU sticks with a 4+6 core layout, but the bigger story is the GPU. Each of its 10 cores now has a dedicated Neural Accelerator, which basically rewires how the iPad handles AI directly on the chip. It also packs a third-gen ray-tracing engine to manage lighting and shadows in 3D apps.
The 16-core Neural Engine is both faster and more efficient than the M4's, leading to Apple's claim of up to 3.5x faster AI performance. You'll see this in apps like DaVinci Resolve for video masking or Draw Things for generating images. Overall, AI image generation is twice as fast, and AI video upscaling is 2.3x quicker.
Beyond AI, 3D rendering gets a 1.5x boost, and video transcoding in Final Cut Pro is 1.2x faster. Memory bandwidth jumps 30% to over 150 GB/s, while storage read/write speeds double. All models, starting from 256GB, come with 12GB of RAM.
Display and Design

The iPad Pro M5 packs an Ultra Retina XDR display that uses OLED tech. You get 1,000 nits for normal content and it can spike to 1,600 nits for HDR content. Apple also offers a nano-texture glass option, which cuts down glare without making the image look worse. It is ridiculously thin—the 11-inch model is just 5.3mm, and the 13-inch is even thinner at 5.1mm. You can pick between Space Black and Silver colors. And if you plug it into an external display, it'll push up to 120Hz with Adaptive Sync.
Connectivity
The iPad Pro M5 features a C1X cellular modem, which delivers up to 50% faster cellular performance while using 30% less energy than M4. It supports 5G and eSIM. Moreover, the N1 wireless chip adds Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support and improves personal hotspot reliability and AirDrop connections.
iPadOS 26

iPadOS 26 has this new windowing system that makes switching between apps a lot easier. Apple calls it “Liquid Glass,” and it actually reacts when you touch or swipe. Files got some upgrades too. You can see everything in a list, tweak folders the way you want, and even pick which app opens certain files by default. Preview now lets you edit PDFs, scribble with Apple Pencil, and much more.
Apple Intelligence is smarter as well. It can translate live in calls, FaceTime, and Messages. Shortcuts can suggest things automatically, and Reminders tries to sort stuff for you.
Charging and Battery
The iPad Pro supports fast charging with an optional 40W or 60W USB-C power adapter. The 11-inch model reaches 50% charge in 30 minutes, while the 13-inch model takes 35 minutes for the same charge level. This follows the same fast charging standard as the iPhone 17.
