OnePlus 15R launching soon in Nepal with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and 8300mAh battery

OnePlus has started teasing the upcoming launch: the OnePlus 15R smartphone. The OnePlus 15R appears to be based on the OnePlus Ace 6T that launched in China. OnePlus typically rebrands its Ace series phones for international markets as R-series devices, so this isn't surprising. Now, let's get into the details, where I will discuss everything about the latest OnePlus 15R and the new smartwatch, including their rumoured specifications and availability.

OnePlus 15R Overview

Display and Performance

The 15R will apparently feature a slightly larger display than the 13R, though OnePlus hasn't confirmed the exact size yet. If it's a rebrand of the Ace 6T, it will obviously feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. 

Anyway, the real upgrade here is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, technically yes, because it got launched after the 8 Elite Gen 5, which is actually more powerful. And of course, the 8 Gen 5 is a power chipset; insofar as I would argue that only 1 in a hundred or a couple of hundred people will be able to notice any meaningful difference between the 8 Gen 5 and 8 Elite Gen 5.

Battery and Charging

Following the hype on big batteries, you'll get a massive 8300mAh battery, which is substantially larger than what most flagships offer (see Galaxy, Pixel, or iPhones), and quite larger than the OnePlus 15 itself. And alongside that big of a battery, OnePlus is also including 100W fast charging support.

Camera 

The most disappointing thing to come out of this teaser is likely the camera. The OnePlus 15R is losing the telephoto camera that was present on the 13R. You'll likely get just two cameras on the back this year instead of three. So, you'll get to see a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide unit. In fact, there's a general trend showing that OnePlus seems to be shipping worse camera hardware in the 15 series compared to the 13R.

OnePlus 15R Price in Nepal and Availability

The OnePlus 15R is launching in India on December 17, 2025. We can expect it to launch in Nepal before the end of the year. It is expected to be priced below 1 lakh rupees.
