Design and Display
The new MacBook Pro still follows the 2021 design while coming in space black and silver finishes. The display also remains the same 14.2-inch screen with 3K resolution and a max brightness of 1,600 for HDR content. And like other Pro models, it features the ProMotion technology.
Processor and Memory
The MacBook Pro M5 now hosts the M5 chip, which includes a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. The M5 chip brings in a 30% increase in performance over the previous M4 chip. Along with that, you are also getting 20% more multithreaded CPU speed.
This M5 MacBook starts at 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Ports and Battery
The 14-inch MacBook Pro includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, MagSafe 3, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Apple claims that with the addition of the M5 chip, these devices are capable of 24 hours of video streaming. The 72.4 Wh battery comes with a 70W USB-C adapter with a higher 96W fast charging capability.
