DJI Osmo Action 4 Overview

Design and Display

The DJI Osmo Action 4 is a compact action camera weighing 145g, with a rugged body that is waterproof up to 18 meters without a case and up to 60 meters with the Waterproof Case. It features a magnetic quick-release system and supports native vertical shooting, making it suitable for travel, action sports, and everyday content creation.

For framing and controls, the camera has dual full-color touchscreens, including a 1.4-inch front display and a larger 2.25-inch rear touchscreen. This setup makes it easier to frame yourself, review footage, and adjust settings while recording.

Camera and Performance

The Osmo Action 4 uses a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor paired with a 155° ultra-wide lens with an f/2.8 aperture. The larger sensor is designed to improve low-light performance, while the camera also supports 10-bit color and D-Log M for greater flexibility when editing footage.

For video, the Action 4 can record up to 4K at 120fps, while 1080p recording can reach 240fps for slow-motion footage. It also supports 4K recording in a 4:3 aspect ratio and offers up to a 130Mbps video bitrate. For stabilization, RockSteady 3.0, RockSteady 3.0+, HorizonBalancing, and HorizonSteady help keep footage smooth and level during movement.

Battery and Storage

The DJI Osmo Action 4 packs a 1,770mAh battery and offers up to 160 minutes of operating time under DJI's testing conditions. It can also operate in temperatures as low as -20°C, making it suitable for outdoor and winter shooting.

For storage, the camera does not include built-in storage and instead uses a microSD card with support for capacities of up to 512GB. It also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity and file management.
