The MacBook Neo is powered by a low-binned version of the A18 Pro chip with six CPU cores and five GPU cores, which doesn’t sound that impressive compared to Apple’s regular “M” series chips, but we were pleasantly surprised with how smooth its performance is. Its single-core CPU performance is actually faster than both M1 and M2 chips, so things like launching apps and the overall fluidity of macOS feel incredibly snappy here.
Its 8GB memory limitation is a major bummer, but if your workload mostly consists of web browsing, media consumption, and things like that, the MacBook Neo could be the perfect fit for you. Likewise, this laptop also comes in a couple of playful color options, it has a nice 13” display with 500 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB gamut, alongside an all-day battery life. And the reason we’re so pumped about these Intel processors is that they bring excellent CPU performance, excellent integrated GPU, and excellent battery life all at once. Intel claims these Lunar Lake chips are the most efficient x86 processors out there, and in our tests, the battery life was the one thing that kept impressing us the most.

The real interesting part is that despite carrying such powerful processors, the Asus TUF Gaming A14 is actually lighter than the 14” MacBook Pro. Weighing just 1.46 kg! And I know battery life can be a concern when you have such powerful chips inside, but under casual workload, you can comfortably expect a full day’s worth of screen time from its 73Wh battery.
Further sweetening the deal is the TUF A14’s display since you’re looking at a 14” IPS panel with a tack sharp 2.5K resolution, a buttery smooth 165Hz refresh rate, and 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Its port selection is something we admire just as much since Asus has somehow managed to fit a full-sized HDMI 2.1, one USB-A, and one SD card reader here, alongside a couple of high-speed USB 4 ports. Its display is quite amazing as well because you get a 3K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colors, up to 400 nits of full-screen brightness, and a hardware-level solution against blue light emission.
Asus didn’t compromise in terms of performance either, since this guy is powered by up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip. Which has a 12-core CPU and a powerful Radeon 890M integrated graphics. So not only is it suitable for casual, everyday work, the Zenbook S16 will be able to handle more demanding workloads like photo editing or playing esports games… in such a slim form factor. Asus also claims 18+ hours of battery life here, so all in all, the Zenbook S16 is a fantastic premium Ultrabook.

3. Dell XPS 13 9350 (2024)
So while the Zenbook S16 was a big, premium laptop, the next entry on our list of best Ultrabooks in Nepal is a compact one instead. And I doubt there’s hardly any other Windows laptop lineup as popular as Dell’s “XPS 13” series in this regard. The XPS brand is so synonymous with high-end premium Windows machines that Dell had to revive it literally a year after deciding to kill the XPS series (among others) in a weird renaming fiasco.
You’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about the minute you lay your eyes and hands on the XPS 13. 'Cause it has a premium all-aluminum chassis that is absolutely exquisite. While its keyboard deck is something else as well. There’s no space between the keys, the function row is replaced with a capacitive touch panel, and its haptic touchpad (yes, like the one on MacBooks) doesn’t have a clear, visible border either.
Now I absolutely agree that some of these design choices are simply ridiculous. Especially the capacitive touch function row. But there’s no denying it—the Dell XPS 13 is a gorgeous little laptop.
The rest of the XPS 13 is quite impressive, too. It’s powered by the same Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor I’ve raved so much about throughout this article, it’s got decent battery life, a nice 13.4” FHD display with 500 nits brightness and 100% sRGB colors, and a quad speaker setup. Now, obviously if something is “premium”, then it isn’t exactly a good value for money, but if you want a high-end + compact Windows Ultrabook, the Dell XPS 13 is still your best bet.

Let's see. The one thing that always sucked about the base variant of MacBook Airs was that they only had 256GB of storage. But since Apple upgraded to 512GB on the M5 Air’s base model, that complaint is no longer valid. And of course, its port selection isn’t the best either, but you can always get a USB-C hub if you want HDMI, USB-A, Ethernet, and other connections.
So yeah, the MacBook Air M5 is a fantastic Ultrabook. It’s got a premium aluminum chassis, an excellent IPS display that’s perfectly color-accurate and bright enough even for outdoor use, a nice keyboard, excellent speakers, and the M5 chip powering this thing literally has the fastest CPU in the market! That means unless you really, really want a Windows Ultrabook, the MacBook Air M5 is an easy recommendation.
