Redmi Buds 5A
If you want the best pair of wireless earbuds for the least amount of money, then it simply doesn’t get better than the Redmi Buds 5A in Nepal right now. For some two thousand rupees, these wearbuds offer decent noise cancellation (ANC), a nice, lightweight build, IPX4 splash resistance—and, more importantly, a clean, balanced sound that’s hard to find in this segment.

‘Cause most budget earbuds under NPR 2,000 prioritize bass and nothing else (and often get it horribly bad), so the Redmi Buds 5A’s balanced sound signature that respects the mids and the treble frequencies as well, is incredible. The only thing that’s kinda disappointing about these is the battery life, since Xiaomi wants you to expect just 30 hours of total listening time if you turn off its ANC. Which is pretty much on the lowest end of the spectrum.
Redmi Buds 5A Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: Dimensions unspecified, 3.6 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IPX4 splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 12 mm dynamic drivers
- Audio codecs: SBC
- Noise cancellation: Yes (up to 25dB)
- Battery: Up to 30 hours of music playback without ANC (earbuds + case)
- Control: Touch controls

OnePlus Nord Buds 3
With its recent price drop, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 is our easy recommendation to anyone looking for a decent pair of wireless earbuds under NPR 3,000. Be it audio, noise cancellation, call quality, app support, or battery life, there's not a single thing we don't like about these earbuds. At least considering the price. And starting with sound quality, OnePlus clearly tuned its audio with basshead in mind. Which is why its 12.4 mm drivers push much more air for that rumbly, energetic bass.

That being said, I also agree that some / a lot of people may not be fond of this kind of tuning. Which is why OnePlus also gives a 6-band EQ option inside the app. Other than this, the Nord Buds 3 also impressed us with how well it got rid of the low-frequency noises around us. Whereas its lightweight design, IP55-rated build quality, and up to 43 hours of total battery life are just as impressive too.
OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 20.3 x 23.87 x 29.99 mm, 4.2 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IP55 dust/splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4 (multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 12.4 mm dynamic drivers
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC
- Noise cancellation: Yes (up to 32dB)
- Battery: Up to 28 / 43 hours of music playback with ANC on / off (earbuds + case)
- Control: Touch controls
- Companion app: HeyMelody (Android | iOS)

Soundcore R50i NC
With its elegant build, nice audio, good noise cancellation, and a host of other features, the Soundcore R50i NC is currently our top pick for the best wireless earbuds under NPR 5,000. The earbuds themselves have quite a slender touch to them, so if you have relatively small ears, chances are the R50i NC is gonna fit you just fine. And while Soundcore’s out-of-the-box “V”-shaped tuning may not be everyone’s cup of tea, there are more than enough options inside the Soundcore app to make them sound the way you want.

Including 20+ pre-made equalizers, the option to make one on your own—and listen to this—I can also have these earbuds adjust their noise cancelling level manually or automatically depending on where I am. Besides all this, the Soundcore R50i NC supports multi-point connection, and its charging case can even double as a phone stand. Talk about versatility!
Soundcore R50i NC Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: Unspecified
- Water resistance: IP54 dust/splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4 (multi-point support)

Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC
The "FreeBuds" series from Huawei is home to some of the most impressive wireless earbuds I've seen, and the newly launched FreeBuds SE 4 ANC continues that tradition just fine. It's not exactly a "spec monster" like what you'd get from some other Chinese brands, but Huawei has delivered quite a balanced overall experience with these earbuds. Which starts with the sound quality itself, since these earbuds have a lovely tuning by default, with a nice balance between the low-end and high-end frequencies.

Huawei also lets me play around with a few pre-built EQs or create one on my own! And the one thing that stood out to me the most about the FreeBuds SE 4 ANC has to be its call quality. The people on the receiving end never complained about my voice, even when I was in a crowded street, which is just fantastic! Its multi-mode ANC that adapts according to my ambient conditions is super interesting as well, while its battery life is also quite something since Huawei claims 7 hours of playback with the earbuds alone. That too with ANC enabled!
Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 24 x 21.3 x 32.3 mm, 4.3 gm (per earbuds)
- Water resistance: IP54 dust/splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 10 mm dynamic drivers
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC, mSBC
- Noise cancellation: Yes (up to 50dB)
- Battery: Up to 35 / 50 hours of music playback with ANC on / off (earbuds + case)

JBL Wave Buds 2
So if you’re looking for a pair of earbuds that just… works, I definitely think you should be looking into the JBL Wave Buds 2. These earbuds don’t try too hard to stand out—and for me—that’s exactly what makes them so appealing. Starting with the design itself, the Wave Buds 2 have a sleek, stemless design that’s quite rare to see these days. And since it’s also IP54 dust/water resistant and weighs just 4.5 grams per earbud, it could be a great companion on your workout sessions as well.

And unlike most budget earbuds that go big on bass and nothing else, the Wave Buds 2’s balanced tuning means it manages to reproduce the natural timbre of vocals and high-frequencies quite well too. This is definitely not gonna satisfy those who want to be surrounded by a cloud of bass, but for everyone else, these JBL earbuds are gonna sound great. Other highlights of the Wave Buds 2 include multi-point connection, decent noise cancellation, and up to 40 hours of battery life.
JBL Wave Buds 2 Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 21.6 x 15.8 x 20.4 mm, 4.5 gm (per earbuds)

- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3 (multi-point support)

Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro
Other than budget earbuds, Soundcore’s flagship earbuds are just as impressive. The best part is that they usually cost less than half as much as most other premium earbuds. And the Liberty 4 Pro is a glowing example of both those things. It’s available for a little over NPR 15,000 right now, and for that much money, there’s a lot to love about these earbuds.

Including its noise cancellation, which is easily the best for the price. Soundcore says the Liberty 4 Pro can react to the ambient noise as frequently as every 0.3 seconds, and we found it to be exceptionally effective against low-frequency noises. Likewise, we’re quite fond of its sound quality as well. The Liberty 4 Pro is rocking a dual-driver setup, and they’ve been tuned closely following the “Harman Target” curve. It also has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from Soundcore earbuds, including a touch bar in the charging case to control noise cancellation modes and such.
Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 24.87 x 22 x 31.68 mm, 5.5 gm (per earbuds)
- Water resistance: IPX5 water resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3 (multi-point support)
- Sound driver: ACAA 4.0 coaxial driver

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE
Next up is the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, and if you’re a Samsung user looking for a nice pair of earbuds without going all in on flagship ones, this is it. The Buds 3 FE (Fan Edition) has a similar “Blade Design” as Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 series, and in fact the same 11mm driver setup as the standard Galaxy Buds 3. And although this one doesn’t support Samsung’s high-quality SSC UHQ audio codec, the Buds 3 FE sounds fantastic.

It’s got a typical warm sound signature by default, with fairly clean bass and not much sparkle in the treble region. Luckily, not only does Samsung give me the option to create a custom equalizer, but I can even set different sound effects for different apps with the Buds 3 FE. The noise cancellation on this thing is honestly not that great considering the price, but all in all, this is still a great pair of earbuds under 20,000 rupees if you own a Samsung phone.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 33.8 x 18 x 21.1 mm, 5 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IP54 dust/splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 11 mm dynamic drivers
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC, SSC
- Noise cancellation: Yes (dB unspecified)

Apple AirPods 4
The fourth-generation AirPods is Apple’s most affordable pair of wireless earbuds. And in case you didn’t know, this is different from the “AirPods Pro” lineup in terms of design. ’Cause the AirPods 4 has what’s called a “semi-in-ear” fit with no ear tips at all, compared to the “in-ear” fit of the AirPods Pros. Meaning, if you find it uncomfortable to wear earbuds with eartips, this is probably what you’re searching for.

The one thing I was surprised by with the AirPods 4 was its bass ‘cause semi-in-ear earbuds aren’t really known for their thumpy low ends at all. Its detail retention and instrument separation are just as enjoyable, even though the AirPods Pros are still Apple’s best-sounding pair of earbuds. But perhaps the biggest potential dealbreaker to most folks is that even after spending nearly 25 thousand rupees, the AirPods 4 doesn’t have ANC. Well… it does… but you’re gonna have to fork out an additional 10,000 rupees for that quiet privilege.
Apple AirPods 4 Specifications:
- Design: Semi-in-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 30.2 x 18.1 x 18.3 mm, 4.3 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IP54 dust/splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: Custom high-excursion Apple driver, amplifier
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC
- Noise cancellation: Yes (optional upgrade)
- Battery: Up to 30 hours of music playback (earbuds + case)
- Control: Press controls
- Companion app: No

Samsung Galaxy Buds 4
The Galaxy Buds 4 is Samsung’s answer to the AirPods 4. This is also a pair of semi-in-ear earbuds, and a damn fine one at that. Samsung’s first attempt at such earbuds with last year’s Galaxy Buds 3 was honestly not too impressive, but this time, the company clearly came back with a vengeance. The design is dramatically better, so is the sound quality, while its noise cancellation is reasonably decent as well.

Like the AirPods 4, we were pleasantly amazed by the bass response on the Galaxy Buds 4, too. Unless eartips are an absolute no-no to you, I’m still not recommending semi-in-ear earbuds. But if they are, the Galaxy Buds 4 is as good as it gets in the Android world. Especially if you already own a Samsung phone. But having said all that, it’s still kinda disappointing to see how Samsung went from a proper IP57 dust/water resistance on the Galaxy Buds 3 last year to a weaker IP54 dust/splash resistance here.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Specifications:
- Design: Semi-in-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 30.5 x 18.3 x 19.3 mm, 4.6 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IP54 dust/splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 6.1 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 11 mm dynamic drivers
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC, SSC HiFi, SSC UHQ, LC3
- Noise cancellation: Yes (dB unspecified)
- Battery: Up to 24 / 30 hours of music playback with ANC on / off (earbuds + case)
- Control: Touch controls

Best Flagship Earbuds
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro
If there’s one pair of earbuds that I was impressed with the most this year, it has to be the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Samsung’s sudden shift to a stem design with the Galaxy Buds 3 series wasn’t that successful for multiple reasons, but the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup feels like the perfect redemption arc. The Buds 4 Pro has a much more refined design and an incredible default tuning that almost makes Samsung’s customization options pointless!

These earbuds have an incredibly detailed sound (particularly in the low-end region), excellent instrument separation, and a wide soundstage for a fantastic listening experience. On top of this, it also supports Samsung’s SSC UHQ codec, capable of streaming up to 24-bit / 96 kHz high-res audio like the regular Galaxy Buds 4. The microphone quality here is equally great, while it also has some interesting features like hands-free control and 360° audio recording. The Buds 4 Pro’s noise cancelling is pretty effective as well, although we found it to be a couple of steps below Apple’s best.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 30.9 x 18.1 x 19.6 mm, 5.1 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IP57 dust/water resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 6.1 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 11 mm woofers + 5.5 mm tweeters
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC, SSC HiFi, SSC UHQ, LC3
- Noise cancellation: Yes (dB unspecified)
- Battery: Up to 26 / 30 hours of music playback with ANC on / off (earbuds + case)
- Control: Touch controls
- Companion app: Galaxy Wearable (Android)

Apple AirPods Pro 3
It took Apple three long years to update its aging AirPods Pro 2 (review)—but man—the third-generation AirPods Pro is everything you could hope for. First and foremost, this thing has the best noise cancellation I’ve tested on any pair of earbuds. Period. I was quite skeptical when Apple mentioned the AirPods Pro 3 had “the world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones” in its keynote, although spending just a few hours with these earbuds was enough to clear all my skepticism.

What struck me the most was how well it was handling the high-frequency noises, too, which is an incredibly challenging thing to do. As for sound, the AirPods Pro 3 slightly deviates from Apple’s typical mid-forward tuning to add a bit more warmth in terms of bass, but it’s done so delicately that I doubt you’re gonna find it offensive if you love how the second-gen AirPods Pro sounded. Besides all this, these earbuds also have terrific battery life, heart rate sensing during workouts, alongside being able to use them are clinical-grade hearing aid.
Apple AirPods Pro 3 Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: 30.9 x 19.2 x 27 mm, 5.55 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IP57 dust/water resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3 (no multi-point support)
- Sound driver: Custom high-excursion Apple driver, amplifier
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC
- Noise cancellation: Yes (dB unspecified)
- Battery: Up to 24 hours of music playback with ANC on (earbuds + case)
- Control: Press controls
- Companion app: No

Sony WF-1000XM5
There are two things I know about Sony’s wireless earbuds.
- Number 1, they have terrible names.
- And number 2, they have excellent noise cancellation.
And if you’d asked me which wireless earbuds have the best ANC? The Sony XM5s would’ve ranked in the top three, at least. But with all the progress Apple and Samsung have made, this last-gen earbuds is no longer even in the running.

Oh yeah, Sony has already debuted the newer WF-1000XM6 with much better noise cancellation and also a bit more analytical sound—which is one of the reasons I’m hesitant on recommending this at the moment. It’s still a great pair of flagship earbuds, although even if you’re a hardcore Sony fan—I’d advise waiting for the newer model to launch instead.
Sony WF-1000XM5 Specifications:
- Design: In-ear fit, all-plastic build
- Dimensions and weight: Dimension unspecified, 5.9 gm (per earbud)
- Water resistance: IPX4 splash resistance
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3 (multi-point support)
- Sound driver: 8.4 mm dynamic drivers
- Audio codecs: AAC, SBC, LDAC, LC3
- Noise cancellation: Yes (dB unspecified)
- Battery: Up to 24 hours of music playback with ANC on / off (earbuds + case)
- Control: Touch controls
- Companion app: Sony Sound Connect (Android | iOS)
