      Insta360 Luna Ultra Rumors

Following the launch of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 (and the rumored Osmo Pocket 4P), Insta360 has also shared several leaks about its upcoming “Luna Ultra” pocket gimbal camera. It will feature a dual camera setup (like the Pocket 4P) and a bunch of other interesting features, so let me tell you everything you need to know about the Insta360 Luna Ultra.

      Design and Build

Starting with the cropped photo of the Insta360 Luna Ultra shared by leakster Igor Bogdanov on his X (Twitter) account, we can see that the focus is on the junction where the gimbal and camera body meet.

In the same picture, he also writes the caption “does it separate?”, which clearly hints at a detachable, modular build. If the rumors are true, we might get the wearable mounting option we saw in the Insta360 GO series, giving us wide flexibility for vlogging in tight spaces.

Moreover, Insta360 also released a heavily pixelated teaser showcasing its dual camera setup.

      Camera and Battery

As for the cameras, earlier leaks suggested that Luna Ultra might only offer 3x optical zoom with a telephoto lens alongside a wide-angle lens. But it seems Insta360 has cooked something much more impressive since the Luna Ultra is expected to come with 6x optical zoom. Or even up to 12x zoom, based on some leaked video we've seen online. That should make DJI's upcoming Pocket 4P significantly less compelling since that guy is rumored to come with 2 – 4x optical zoom.

Igor also shared an AI-enhanced image of the Luna Ultra's dual-camera setup I mentioned earlier. It is rumored to come with a larger battery than previous pocket-style cameras as well, offering ease in extended use.

      Performance and Control

We might see a significant shift towards physical control on the Luna Ultra compared to what we've seen in DJI's Osmo Pocket series. It might also come with a joystick for navigation and a zoom rocker for precise control, along with additional buttons in a rotatable display. Also, you can expect a flip-out rotating touchscreen with live preview support.

Along with this, the Luna Ultra might also offer swipe gestures and manual zoom controls.

Insta360 Luna Ultra Launch and Availability:

So far, Insta360 has not yet disclosed the official launch date for the Luna Ultra. But given that the company has begun sharing official teasers, we're expecting it to launch in the coming weeks.
