Insta360 has officially introduced the X6 as its latest flagship 360-degree camera, bringing a major jump in imaging hardware and processing over the X5. The camera combines dual custom Sony 1/1.1-inch sensors with a new triple-chip system for better detail, dynamic range, and low-light performance. It also supports 8K 50fps 360° video, 120MP 360° photos, and 5K 60fps flat video. In this article, I will discuss this action camera in detail, including the official Insta360 X6 price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Insta360 X6 Overview

Camera and Videos

Starting with the cameras, the Insta360 X6 features dual custom Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors, which are 33% larger than those on its predecessor. The larger sensors help capture more light and detail, especially in challenging lighting. It also gets a triple-chip processing system, while AdaptiveTone 2.0 adjusts exposure between the two lenses. Meanwhile, PureVideo mode is designed to reduce noise and improve clarity in low-light scenes.

For video, the X6 can record 360-degree footage at up to 8K 50fps. This higher resolution gives you more flexibility to reframe and crop footage later while retaining detail. It also supports 10-bit color, I-Log, and Dolby Vision. For standard footage, the camera can record up to 5K 60fps and 4K 120fps.

As for the photography side, the X6 can capture up to 120MP 360-degree photos. You can choose the framing after taking the shot, making it easier to capture subjects without worrying too much about composition. It also uses AI-powered features to turn 360-degree images into regular photos.

Here, you get FlowState Stabilization and 360-degree Horizon Lock in combination to keep footage smooth and the horizon level during movement. It also supports an invisible selfie stick, allowing you to create third-person perspectives without the stick appearing in the final footage. Additionally, the X6 supports 16K Timelapse export through Insta360 Studio, giving creators more room to produce highly detailed time-lapse footage.

Design and Display

Moving to the design, the Insta360 X6 keeps the familiar vertical form factor with dual cameras placed on opposite sides. It weighs 196 grams, making it relatively easy to carry for travel, cycling, and other outdoor activities. The camera also features replaceable lenses, which is useful since the exposed lenses can be more vulnerable during action shooting.

On the front, it gets a 2.32-inch OLED touchscreen with up to 1,200 nits peak brightness. The bright display makes it easier to view framing and settings outdoors, while the Always-On Display provides quick access to key information. The screen also uses pressure-sensitive controls to help prevent accidental touches.

The X6 is also built for outdoor use with an IP68 rating and waterproofing up to 20 meters without a case. With the optional Invisible Dive Case Pro, it can go as deep as 60 meters. Audio and Other

For audio, the X6 features windproof microphones and supports up to two Insta360 wireless microphones. It also offers native Bluetooth connectivity with motorcycle helmet headsets from brands such as SENA, Cardo, and ASMAX, along with an Engine Sound Enhancement profile designed to preserve motorcycle engine audio. Additionally, the camera offers voice and gesture controls, NFC pairing, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and compatibility with more than 100 mounting accessories, giving users plenty of flexibility when shooting.

Other than that, it also includes Insta360 PanoMind, the company's in-house multimodal AI model trained across more than 30 action scenarios. The company said it can understand footage and help with content creation, while Moments Pro uses cloud-based, prompt-driven editing to turn footage into customized videos. The camera also supports InstaFrame 2.0, which can automatically frame subjects and produce regular flat videos from 360-degree footage, along with AI Director and Auto Edit 2.0 for automated editing.

For 3D content, the X6 introduces Spatial Capture with 3D Gaussian Splatting, allowing users to capture a space in 360 degrees and generate an interactive 3D model that can be explored through the Insta360 app. Meanwhile, the Insta360+ Cloud Service provides cloud storage and additional AI-powered tools for creators who want to manage and edit their footage online.
