OPPO A6 made its debut in Nepal back in March this year. The phone had already received a price hike a couple of months ago—and now—its 8/256GB variant has gotten even more expensive. So in this article, let's discuss the specifications, key features, and the latest official price of the OPPO A6 in Nepal.

Design and Display

In terms of design, the OPPO A6 features a square camera module and a flat frame in the middle. Oppo has equipped the phone with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. As for color options, the OPPO A6 4G is available in Aurora Gold and Sapphire Blue.

Display-wise, the phone features a 6.75-inch AMOLED display for a vivid content-watching experience and a 120Hz refresh rate for fast scrolling. The panel supports up to 1150 nits of peak local brightness, which should be more than enough to view in sunny outdoors.

Camera

The phone features a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP monochrome sensor. This setup can only offer a basic photography experience as there is no ultrawide or telephoto unit here. Video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps. Likewise, the phone houses an 8MP sensor on the hole-punch cutout.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the OPPO A6 is powered by the Snapdragon 685 4G chipset. It features four Cortex-A73 cores at 2800 MHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1900 MHz. This is a 4-year-old chip that can do basic tasks like social media and light games well. But it is not intended for 60 fps gaming or high performance. CMF Phone 2 Pro, at a similar price point, offers a much better performance with the Dimensity 7300 SoC.

Interestingly, there is a vapor chamber (VC) cooling system, which will keep this guy cool, although the chip itself is not performance-centric. OPPO has paired the chip with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the phone boots into ColorOS 15, built on Android 15.

Moreover, the phone features a 7,000 mAh battery. It supports 45W wired fast charging and also features reverse wired charging. In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The OPPO A6 is a well-designed phone with solid build quality. It boasts a triple IP rating for durability, and its clean, appealing design is also a draw for those who want looks. However, I wish OPPO had included a more powerful chip for the price; the Snapdragon 685 will suffice for moderate users who don't need to play games like PUBG at 60 fps. But anyone wanting a faster performance can opt for phones like the CMF Phone 2 Pro in the same price bracket. Lastly, the 7000mAh battery is impressive, providing around two days of battery life with moderate use.
