Asus ROG Strix G16 (2025) launched in Nepal with RTX 50-series GPU!

The Strix G16 (2025) gets a lot right—especially the display and performance—but the real value is in the higher-end model.

ROG Strix G16 (2025) G615LR Price in Nepal

One of the official distributors of Asus products in Nepal, Nagmani International, has finally launched the ROG Strix G16 (2025). It comes with Intel’s latest Ultra 9 processor and NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Ti GPU as well as the Intel Core i7 14th Gen processor paired with NVIDIA’s RTX 5050 GPU. Let's dive in!

Asus ROG Strix G16 (2025) Overview:

      Performance and Graphics

The ROG Strix G16 (2025) comes in two variants, and the gap between them is big enough that they feel like completely different laptops.

The base model pairs the Intel Core i7-14650HX with the RTX 5050 (8GB GDDR7, up to 115W). It’s fine for 1080p gaming and can handle lighter 1440p titles, but at that price, i find it really hard to justify. You’re getting a last-gen CPU and an entry-level GPU in a laptop that costs over NPR 3 lakh, which doesn't really makes sense, if i am being honest. And other than that, it also feel more like it’s priced to fit a segment rather than offer real value.

The higher-end version, for me, makes a lot more sense. It comes with the Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5070 Ti (12GB GDDR7, up to 140W). At that power level, the GPU can actually perform properly, and for 1440p gaming at high to max settings, it handles things without much compromise. Both models come with 16GB DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, and you can upgrade the RAM up to 64GB.

      Display

The 16-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) display at 240Hz is one of the nicer panels you’ll find on a gaming laptop right now, or atleast at this price. The display comes in 16:10 aspect ratio, which will give you extra vertical space, compared to the typical 16:9 screens.

In actual use, it also feels smooth and consistent. The G-Sync is there to helps things remain fluid while gaming, and HDR content does look a bit richer when supported. The colors offered in this laptop are also better than what you usually get on gaming laptops.

You also get a MUX Switch and Advanced Optimus, which are easy to ignore on paper but do matter. Switching to the dGPU directly can give you a small but noticeable boost in some games, especially when you’re pushing higher settings.

Moreover, the built-in keyboard has per-key RGB backlighting. As well as a NumberPad-supported touchpad. Furthermore, it includes a dedicated Copilot key and an IR camera for Windows Hello.

      Ports and Connectivity

There are a few differences in the port selection between the two models, but the basics are the same. Both come with HDMI 2.1, three USB-A ports, a LAN port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The main difference is in the USB-C setup. The G615JHR (i7 + RTX 5050) gets one Thunderbolt 4 port along with a standard USB-C port, while the G615LR (Ultra 9 + RTX 5070 Ti) steps up with two Thunderbolt 5 ports.

Aside from that, both models support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. You also get a 90Wh battery and a 4-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and AI noise cancelation, which should be good enough for everyday use, as long as you’re not gaming all the time.

Should You Buy the Asus ROG Strix G16 (2025) in Nepal?

The Core Ultra 9 + RTX 5070 Ti model is the one to go for if you want something that lasts. With a 140W GPU, Thunderbolt 5, and a newer CPU, it’s a proper high-performance machine that should stay relevant for years.

The i7 + RTX 5050 version  is a bit harder to justify. At that price, the older CPU and entry-level GPU might start to feel limiting sooner than expected. The build and display are still solid, and it’s fine if this is your max budget and you want the ROG setup with warranty. But if you can stretch, the 5070 Ti model is a big upgrade. And if not, you’ll find better value gaming laptops in the NPR 2.5–3 lakh range.
