It's the successor to last year's Galaxy A26.

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A27 in Nepal, expanding its Galaxy A series lineup as the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A26. While it is a new addition to the lineup, it offers a modest refresh rather than a major upgrade. The phone features slimmer bezels, a punch-hole display, and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor instead of one from the Exynos camp this time. So in this article, I will discuss everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy A27, including its specifications, availability, and official price in Nepal.
Key Highlights
- Samsung Galaxy A27 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
- It is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
- The phone packs a triple-camera setup with a 50MP primary, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro.
- It runs on Samsung's One UI 8.5 (Android 16), and Samsung also promises 6 years of software updates for this phone.
Samsung Galaxy A27 Overview
New design, familiar display
Starting with the design, the Samsung Galaxy A27 features a plastic frame and a glass back. It measures just 7.8mm thick—maintaining its slim profile—while it weighs 200 gm. Samsung has also refreshed the design with slimmer bezels and a punch-hole display, replacing the waterdrop notch found on the Galaxy A26. On the rear, it retains a vertically aligned triple-camera setup.
However, the phone now carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, which is quite inferior to its predecessor's IP67 rating. This means, while it is still perfectly dustsealed, the Galaxy A26 can now only handle slight water splashes rather than temporary immersion. Either way, the phone is available in Light Pink, Blue, Light Green, and Black finishes.

On the front, the Galaxy A27 retains a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ (1080 × 2340) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations. While the overall display specifications remain largely unchanged from the previous generation, as I mentioned before, the Galaxy A27 now has a cleaner hole-punch cutout instead of a teardrop notch. Both the front and the back of the phone is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus+, like before.
Upgraded performance
Under the hood, the Galaxy A27 replaces Samsung's in-house Exynos 1380 with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset (4nm) instead. While it isn't Qualcomm's newest mid-range processor, it should deliver improved everyday performance and better power efficiency than its predecessor. The chipset should also be capable of handling popular games like PUBG, COD: Mobile, and Free Fire at medium graphics settings.

Memory-wise, the Galaxy A27 comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. On the software front, it ships with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. Samsung also promises six major Android OS upgrades, matching the software support offered by the Galaxy A26.

Camera and battery
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy A27 features a similar triple rear camera setup to its predecessor. You're looking at a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor with OIS, a useless 2MP macro unit, although Samsung has replaced the 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide unit on its predecessor with a 5MP f/2.2 sensor instead. Likewise, the selfie camera has also been slightly downgraded from a 13MP f/2.2 sensor on the Galaxy A26 to a 12MP f/2.2 sensor this time. Since its main camera has OIS, you can at least expect better video stabilisation and low-light photography from this phone.

In terms of the battery, the Samsung Galaxy A27 retains a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. It also offers Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 5 for wireless connectivity, while you get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics as well.
