Techno Pova 8 Price in Nepal

Tecno is back in the Indian market with its new mid-range smartphone—the Pova 8—targeting users who look for long battery life so they can use their phone without worrying about frequent recharging. This new phone is actually a successor to last year's Tecno Pova 7. The most visible upgrades in this new phone are its battery capacity and a unique back panel design. But surprisingly, Tecno just took a step back in a performance downgrade that I will explain why in a bit. For now, I will discuss the new Tecno Pova 8 in detail, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

      Key Highlights

      • The TECNO Pova 8 features a massive 8000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
      • It comes with a 6.76-inch IPS LCD display that offers a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
      • The phone sports a unique Alive Matrix rear display alongside a 104-LED Delta Light interface.
      • For photography, it packs a 50MP Sony Lytia 600 main camera with 2x in-sensor zoom support.

      Tecno Pova 8 Overview

      Battery and Camera

Starting off, the battery is the major highlight of this new Tecno Pova 8 with an 8000mAh cell, which is around 33.33% larger than the one we saw in the Tecno Pova 7. With this battery, Tecno claims the phone can last more than two days on casual use. Pova 8 can be quickly recharged via 45W wired charging, which takes roughly 35 minutes to reach half the battery capacity, while it also supports 10W reverse wired charging—so you can recharge your earbuds and smartwatches in emergency situations.  But the 30W wireless charging support we had in its predecessor is no longer available on this phone.

      Techno Pova 8 Camera

In terms of optics, Tecno kept things simple by offering a 50MP f/1.8 Sony Lytia 600 sensor on the back with 2x in-sensor zoom, and it is further paired with an AF lens. So this sensor should work well for delivering decent photos and videos in good lighting, while low-light shots might not be as good or as detailed. Up front, you get the same 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls, but with a better f/2.2 aperture. so

      Design and Display

Another highlight of the Tecno Pova 8 is its display. Tecno seems to take inspiration from the Nothing Phone 4a Pro (review) design by adding a circular Alive matrix display unit on the back, where you can see notifications for various activities on the phone. Alongside, you can also watch expression animations and various productivity status indicators, such as charging, timers, and more, all without flipping or opening the phone screen.

      Techno Pova 8 Design

Besides that, it also has the “Delta Light interface” throughout the triangular camera island, with 104 LEDs that house the dual-lens, Alive Matrix display, and strip LED flash. What's impressive is that Tecno has managed to fit the larger battery into a slightly slimmer and more compact chassis this time. For global users, Tecno is giving the choice of “Arc White”, “Graphite Black”, “Helios Orange”, and Echo Green" finishes, while users across India will get the option of “Bit White” and “Terminal Green” finishes too.

Up front, the Tecno Pova 8 comes with a 6.76-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution, which is slightly smaller than the one we saw on the Pova 7. Here, the 144Hz refresh rate should make everyday scrolling feel noticeably smoother while also benefiting supported gameplay. It also has a 240Hz touch sampling rate to keep your phone responsive during gaming. Pova 8 also offers Wet & Oily Finger Touch Recognition 2.0 so that you dont have to struggle with it right after handwashing.

      Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Tecno Pova 8 uses the older Dimensity 7100 chip built on a 6nm process, which is arguably the biggest compromise on the Pova 8—since its predecessor used the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate (4nm) chip—which offers better gaming performance. As a result, sustained gaming performance may not be as strong as what we saw on the Pova 7. The chip in the Pova 8 is the same one we saw in the Tecno Pova Curve 2, launched a few months back.

      Techno Pova 8 Cooling

To manage the thermal performance of this phone, Tecno has used a Thermal Z0 Cooling Tech with a massive 14,689 mm2 heat-dissipation panel, which is around 2.5x larger than the previous one. Tecno claims that this cooling system can maintain stable 90 fps in titles such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends. However, it would struggle with heavy AAA titles like Genshin Impact.

Memory-wise, Pova 8 comes with up to 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. On the software side, it runs on HiOS 16 based on Android 16 with up to 2 major OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches.
