Nothing: Brand Overview

Nothing is a London-based consumer technology company co-founded by Carl Pei, who also co-founded OnePlus. Although it's a relatively new smartphone brand, Nothing has quickly made itself known with its transparent design, clean Nothing OS experience, and the unique Glyph lighting system that gives its phones a distinct identity.

Over the years, Nothing has refined its signature lighting design. The Phone (1) and Phone (2) came with the Glyph Interface—customizable LED lighting patterns on the back of the phone for notifications, while the newer Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro feature the more advanced Glyph Matrix. 

The Phone (4a) and Phone (4b), on the other hand, use the simpler Glyph Bar to deliver a similar visual experience at a more affordable price. Besides its main smartphone lineup, the company also has CMF by Nothing, a sub-brand that focuses on budget-friendly smartphones and smart accessories.

Nothing officially entered the Nepali market in 2023, with CG Mobiles becoming the authorized national distributor for Nothing products in Nepal. It all started with the Nothing Phone (1), which instantly stood out from the crowd with its transparent back and the Glyph Interface—a set of LED light strips on the rear that light up for calls, notifications, charging status, timers, and more. 

The Phone (2) refined the overall experience, while the newer Phone (3) introduced the Glyph Matrix, adding an even more interactive and customizable take on Nothing's signature lighting system.

Apart from the unique design, the Phone series is also where Nothing packs its best hardware, cameras, and software experience. And unlike many flagship phones that come with eye-watering price tags, Nothing has managed to keep its premium lineup competitively priced, making it a great option for anyone looking for a flagship-like experience without breaking the bank.

Nothing Phone (a) series

If there's one lineup that has really put Nothing on the map, it's the Phone (a) series. Starting with the Phone (2a), Nothing proved that you don't need to spend flagship money to get a phone with a premium design, clean software, and a well-rounded overall experience. Since then, the lineup has expanded with the Phone (2a) Plus, Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (3a) Lite, and the latest Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro.

The Phone (a) series continues to offer some of the best value for money in its segment, especially if you're after a balanced smartphone without unnecessary compromises. That said, if you're considering the Phone (4a) Pro, I'd recommend taking a look at the Nothing Phone (3) instead. Nothing Phone (b) series

The Nothing Phone (b) series is the company's newest and most affordable smartphone lineup, making its debut in 2026 with the Nothing Phone (4b). It sits below the Phone (a) series and is aimed at buyers who want the signature Nothing experience without spending too much. So you still get the brand's transparent design, the new Glyph Bar on the back, and Nothing OS, while the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and a more modest camera setup keep the phone in a budget-friendly segment.

Personally, the Phone (b) series feels like a lineup that could've easily lived under the CMF brand. But with budget smartphones becoming increasingly expensive to build, it also makes sense for Nothing to have an entry-level lineup of its own. 

If you're leaning towards the Phone (4b) but can stretch your budget by a few thousand rupees, I'd recommend considering the Nothing Phone (4a) instead. It delivers a noticeably better overall experience and offers much better value for the extra money. However, if you want to stay within the Phone (4b)'s price range, there are also other competitor smartphones, such as the Infinix GT 30 Pro or the Samsung A27 is worth looking at. 

Nothing in Nepal: Conclusion

Whether you're looking for a flagship phone, a well-balanced midrange device, or an affordable option, Nothing now has a smartphone for almost every budget in Nepal. If you want the best Nothing experience, the Phone series is the way to go. For most users, though, the Phone (a) series remains the sweet spot, offering the best balance of features, performance, and price. As for the Phone (b) series, I'd only recommend it if you're on a tight budget or specifically want the Nothing experience, as there are currently better options available in the same price range.

Overall, the Phone (a) series remains the highlight of Nothing's lineup in Nepal, while the other series cater to users looking for either a more premium or a more affordable option.
