Redmi has launched a new member of its M-series in China, the Redmi M100. The phone comes with a massive 7,900mAh battery, a 120Hz display, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, making battery endurance its main attraction. Looking at the specs of this phone, its seem like it is the rebranding of the global Redmi 17 5G with upgraded storage and some compromise in the optics. In this article, I will discuss this phone in detail, including the expected Redmi M100 price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Key Highlights
- The Redmi M100 packs a massive 7,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.
- It features a large 6.9-inch 120Hz LCD panel with up to 825 nits HBM brightness.
- The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 5G chipset built on a 4nm process.
- It comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, with support for expandable storage.
- The M100 features IP64 protection and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added everyday durability.
Redmi M100 Overview
Design and Display
Starting with the design, Redmi M100 has followed a fairly simple and practical approach with a similar back panel design that we recently saw in Redmi 17. Here, you can choose between “Midnight Black”, “Starry White”, and “Wilderness Green” finishes. This phone also comes with an RGB lighting element around the camera module that could be customized for different notifications.

For durability, the M100 also comes with an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which should offer some added resistance against everyday scratches and minor drops.
On the front, the Redmi M100 features a 6.9-inch LCD panel with a 1600 x 720 resolution. The HD+ resolution is a bit of a compromise at this screen size, particularly when sharper Full HD+ panels are becoming common even in the budget segment. However, the 120Hz refresh rate should make scrolling through social media, browsing, and moving around the interface noticeably smoother.

Additionally, the display can reach up to 825 nits in HBM (High Brightness Mode), which should help improve visibility when using the phone outdoors, especially under bright daylight. Though it won’t be the brightest panel in its segment, it should be sufficient for regular outdoor use.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Redmi M100 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, a 4nm chipset. This is the same chip that we saw in the global Redmi 17 5G recently. So, for everyday use such as social media, browsing, streaming, and light multitasking, this combination should be more than enough. However, if you are looking for a phone for gaming, then you can look the option like Nothing Phone 4a, Nothing Phone 4b, Infinix Note 60 Pro, and POCO M8 Pro.

Memory-wise, it comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. On the software side, the M100 runs Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. While Android 16 is still a relatively recent version, Android 17 has already started rolling out, so seeing the M100 launch with the previous generation of Android is a little less exciting. Still, HyperOS 3 brings the latest Xiaomi software experience to the phone and should keep the overall interface feeling up to date.

Battery and Camera
The battery is easily the biggest highlight of the Redmi M100. It packs a massive 7,900mAh cell, which Redmi claims can deliver up to two days of battery life on a single charge. For charging, it supports 45W wired charging, while 22.5W reverse wired charging lets you use the phone to top up other devices when needed.

For photography, Redmi has kept things basic with a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. The main sensor supports features such as Night mode, Portrait, Pro, Live Photos, and document scanning. So, rather than being a camera-focused phone, the M100 is better understood as an everyday device where battery life and basic usability take priority over photography.
