Xiaomi Pad 8 Price in Nepal

Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Pad 8 in Nepal. And this is their latest attempt in the mid-range tablet market, which sits just below the more expensive Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, which, sadly, is not coming to Nepal. Still, the regular Pad 8 features many things similar to the expensive 8 Pro. Now, let's jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Xiaomi Pad 8, including its official price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

      Xiaomi Pad 8 Overview

      Display and Design

The regular Pad 8 shares the same display as its elder sibling, with an 11.2-inch LCD that uses a 3200 × 2136-pixel resolution. The Pad 8 features a 3:2 aspect ratio instead of the 16:10 ratios found in most Android tablets. But more importantly, you get a 144Hz refresh rate that is rare on virtually all tablets, and the tablet also shines with 800 nits peak brightness and HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid support.

And in real-world usage, this is one superb display for a tablet. Everything feels great here. Browsing the web or scrolling reels, it's more than bright enough when I’m indoors, and binging my favorite shows is an absolute treat, too.

      Xiaomi Pad 8 Design

The display supports full DC dimming (which is designed to reduce flicker and eye strain during extended use). For dimensions and build concerns, the tablet measures 5.75mm slim and weighs around 485g. You get three color options - Black, Ice Crystal Blue, and Turquoise Green.

      Performance

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is a slightly older chipset that sits between mid-range and flagship territory. It's not the 8 Elite chip that the Pad 8 Pro gets; the 8S Gen 4 is still a capable, tried-and-tested chipset that can handle everything thrown at it.  Moreover, RAM is 8GB of LPDDR5x memory, while storage is capped at 128GB with UFS 3.1 and 256GB with UFS 4.1. And like past Xiaomi tablets, this guy also continues the tradition of high performance. The gaming test speaks volumes on that. It stayed cooler while providing smooth fps across PUBG, Genshin Impact, and Mobile Legends.

GamesSettings Front TemperatureBack TemperatureAverage FPS5% Low
      PUBGSmooth + 90 FPS33.234.288.784.7
      Genshin ImpactHigh + 60 FPS35.63759.756.4
      Mobile LegendsLow + 60 FPS35366059.6

The tablet runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3, the same as the new phone lineup. It focuses on productivity, with features such as AI Dynamic Wallpaper, split-screen improvements, and Workstation Mode, which functions like Samsung DeX.  Xiaomi has included PC-grade productivity tools like WPS Office and CAD support as well.

      Camera

The camera setup is pretty basic, as you might have expected. The Xiaomi Pad 8 features a single 13MP rear and another 8MP front camera.  As I said, these are definitely not the cameras you can rely on, but if cameras matter a lot to you in a tablet, then the Pad 8 Pro offers a much better camera system with 50MP rear and 32MP front sensors. But tablets are seldom considered for their cameras because they serve no camera-centric purpose, mainly due to their massive size.

      Battery and Charging

Letting cameras aside, Xiaomi hasn't compromised on the battery, though. The 9,200mAh battery matches the Pro model, which is really impressive for the lower-priced version. It lasted for a solid 9.5 hours of screen time in our tests. However, charging is limited to 45W compared to the Pro's 67W.

      Audio and Input

You get decent audio quality through Pad 8's Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. Alongside that, you also get four microphones for the Xiaomi Focus Touch Pen Pro and a magnetic keyboard, though these are sold separately. Similarly, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner doubles as the power button, and connectivity features are standard, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster.  Meanwhile, Xiaomi also added a flicker sensor and a color-temperature sensor.

Should you buy the Xiaomi Pad 8 in Nepal?

Like every previous Xiaomi tablet, the Pad 8 also boasts excellent value, though the price has risen slightly due to the ongoing RAM price hike. It sports a superb 3.2K res panel with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and delivers powerful performance that handles everything well. Pair that with long endurance, the Pad 8 holds a good value for money tablet in Nepal, at the moment.
