DJI launched the Osmo Action 4 camera, a successor to the Action 3, a while ago. The pioneer drone-making company is also very popular in the action camera segment. This action camera has been available in Nepal for quite some time as well. So, let's quickly head toward the specs, features, and the latest official price of the DJI Osmo Action 4 in Nepal in this article.

DJI Osmo Action 4 Overview:

A 1/1.3-inch CMOS Sensor

One of the key USPs of the Action 4 has to be its 1/1.3" CMOS sensor with 10MP resolution. To compare, the Action 3 had a smaller 1/1.7" unit. So, the bigger sensor here will let in more light, enabling better low-light outputs overall. You also get a color temperature sensor on the "O" syllable of the "Action" label on the camera.

Likewise, the pixel size now becomes 2.4µm from 1.6µm. DJI continues the 155° FOV for those wider images, while you can digitally zoom up to 4x and 2x for photos and videos, respectively.

Up to 4K 120fps, Improved Stabilization

This camera can capture up to 4K 60fps videos for 4:3 and 4K 120fps videos at 16:9 formats. Talking of slow motion, it can do 4K at 120fps, while the 1080p res slow-mo takes it up to 240fps. An action camera needs a lot of stabilization in order to capture smooth footage. Action 4 features 360° HorizonSteady, enabling the correction of horizontal tilts at any angle. On top of that, you get Rocksteady 3.0 for smooth and fluid stabilization even at 4k 120fps.

Design and Body

The Action 4 arrives in a rectangular compact body with a weight of 145 gm. It is waterproof without the case up to 18m, given that the USB-C port and battery compartment are closed with the Glass lens cover being tightened. For deeper dives, there is a case that is rated up to 60m.

Not only that, DJI says the body is an anti-deep freeze one, sustaining at up to -20 degrees Celcius. Meanwhile, for navigation, you get a dual display setup, a 2.25-inch primary at the rear, and a smaller 1.4-inch one on the front side. Due to the lack of built-in GPS, you can also purchase a GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller for positioning jobs, alongside controlling the camera. Interestingly, this one can be worn as a watch and also consists of a mini display.

Battery and Others

Moving on, the DJI Osmo Action 4 gets its juice from a 1770 mAh LiPo 1S battery. It can run up to 2.6 hours approximately and supports fast charging for quick power-ups. In terms of wireless connectivity, you get WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 BLE. Furthermore, the memory card storage is now expandable up to 512GB.
