Realme's new premium mid-range TWS looks quite solid on paper— but is it the best in its segment yet?

Realme arrives in India with its new Premium mid-range Realme Buds Air 8 Pro, a direct successor to the Realme Buds Air 7 Pro we saw last year. With these new earbuds, Realme has brought upgrades to its ANC, audio drivers, codecs, call quality, and more than its predecessor. In this article, I will discuss the new pair of Realme earbuds in detail, including the expected Realme Buds Air 8 Pro price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Realme Buds Air 8 Pro Overview
Design and Comfort
Starting with the design, the Realme Buds Air 8 Pro offers an in-ear design with a shiny plastic finish. Here, each earbud weighs around 4.8 grams, so you don't experience ear fatigue during long listening sessions. Also, Realme said these earbuds come with medium-sized ear tips, and you can switch between small and large tips for comfort. They also claim that you don't have to frequently secure the bud in your ear even when you are running or cycling.

Moving on, the top of the case features a mirrored design housing the brand's logo, along with a plateau-style lid that slides into your pocket. Here, you get the option between “Master White” and “Master Black” finishes to choose from. And relame does not specify the case's specific rating, so you need to keep it away from wet environments. But the earbuds have an IP55 rating against dust and water, which lets you use them in light rain and even during intense workouts without much worry.
Audio and Connectivity
Under the hood, Realme Buds Air 8 Pro uses a premium coaxial dual DAC + dual driver system for a better audio experience. Here, you get an 11mm dynamic driver for the deep bass and a 6mm micro-planar tweeter for the crisp vocals and highs. And as I mentioned earlier, it has a dual-DAC chip, with individual chips assigned to handle bass and treble for better audio quality. This setup should deliver a clearer, louder sound with more hidden details in your music, even at higher volumes.

Similarly, to make the most of this dual-driver setup, you get the LHDC 5.0 Bluetooth codec, which supports 192kHz/24-bit high-res audio and up to 1 Mbps lossless audio delivery, which is said to improve your listening experience during wireless playback. Alongside this, it also offers 3D spatial audio and Golden sound to balance the listening experience every time.
On the connectivity side, Realme offers Bluetooth 6.1 with up to 10 meters of wireless range and minimal audio dropout. Also, you can easily pair your tablet, phone, and laptop with these earbuds simultaneously. Moreover, it also has Google Fast Pair and Swift Pair options. And for gamers, it comes with a 45ms low-latency gaming mode that can sync visuals and audio, preventing delays in fast-paced games like BGMI and COD Mobile, or while watching high-definition movies.
ANC and Call Quality
Similar to other premium earbuds, Realme Buds Air 8 Pro have 3 microphones on each bud, paired with AI ENC to eliminate background noise. It also has a bone conduction VPU that captures the internal vibration of your jawbone when you speak and blocks up to 90dB of wind and environmental noise. This will help the earbuds capture your voice more clearly during calls. Furthermore, these earbuds can precisely isolate your voice even in 10 m/s wind or noisy traffic.

About the ANC, these earbuds are said to block up to 55dB of noise during music playback, with up to 5 kHz of noise-cancellation bandwidth. It also has real-time adaptive noise cancellation that automatically adjusts to different levels based on your surroundings. If you frequently attend calls in crowded environments, this TWS might be a good option for day-to-day use.

Battery and App Compatibility
Battery life is another strong point of the Realme Buds Air 8 Pro. It is said to offer up to 12 hours of playtime per bud, extending to 50 hours with the charging case, on a single charge when ANC is OFF. With ANC on, 6 hours of playback look quite decent, which goes up to 27 hours with the case. Apart from this, you can also play music with LHDC and ANC off for 9 hours on the individual buds, which increases to 36 hours with the case.

However, battery life drops noticeably with both ANC and LHDC enabled, yielding up to 5 hours of playtime per earbud and up to 20 hours of total playtime when paired with the case. And the earbuds also support fast charging, giving you 11 hours of playtime with just 10 minutes of charging. Overall, the battery life looks solid for daily use and travel.
Regarding device compatibility, Realme said that the Buds Air 8 Pro is compatible with all Android and iOS devices. You can use the Realme Link app, available on the Play Store and Apple App Store, to customize EQ modes, test earbud fit, configure gesture controls, activate or deactivate ANC and gaming mode, enable AI translation, and more.
