What can we expect from the Samsung Galaxy A18s?

Samsung's upcoming budget smartphone has appeared in a fresh leak. CAD-based renders of the Galaxy A18s have surfaced online, giving us an early look at the phone's design before its official debut. While Samsung doesn't seem to be making any drastic changes, the new model does bring a slightly refreshed camera layout and a familiar Galaxy design language. In this article, I will discuss everything we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy A18s, including its leaked design, expected specifications, and availability.
Key Highlights

- It could arrive with a Snapdragon chipset for the 5G model and a MediaTek processor for the 4G variant.
- The Galaxy A18s is also expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging and run Android 16 with One UI 8.
Samsung Galaxy A18 Overview (Rumor)
Design and Display
The leaked renders suggest Samsung will stick with its familiar flat-frame design for the Galaxy A18s. The phone features a flat display, flat rear panel, and rounded corners, closely resembling other recent Galaxy A-series devices. The biggest visual change you might notice here is the rear camera module. Instead of individually protruding camera rings, the Galaxy A18s is expected to feature a vertically aligned pill-shaped camera island that blends with the color of the back panel for a cleaner look, just like its other A-series siblings—Galaxy A27, Galaxy A37 (review), and Galaxy A57 (review).

On the front, the phone retains a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera, along with relatively thick bezels, especially at the bottom, which we saw in Galaxy A17 (review). While this design feels dated compared to some competitors, it's still common in the entry-level segment. The leak also suggests the phone measures around 164.4 × 77.8 × 7.8 mm. It might also feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, although Samsung has yet to confirm these specifications.
Performance and software
So far, Samsung hasn't revealed the chipset powering the Galaxy A18s. However, rumors indicate the phone could switch to a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset for the 5G model and a MediaTek processor for the 4G varient instead of using an Exynos chip that we saw in its predecessor.
On the software front, the Galaxy A18s is expected to ship with Android 16 layered with Samsung's latest One UI 8. As always, we'll have to wait for the official launch to know the complete hardware configuration and software features.

Battery and camera
For optics, we can clearly see the triple rear camera setup, although the exact sensor details remain unknown at this point. However, rumors say that it might come with a 50MP main camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor. Up front, the A18 might retain its waterdrop notch and house a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

In terms of battery, this phone might pack a large 6,000mAh Li-ion battery with 25W fast wired charging support. More details about the phone hardware, chipset, and more are still under wraps, so we need to wait a little bit longer.
