Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in India, and it's a genuine step up from the original, thinner design, a significantly larger battery, and a new Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. Let's dive into everything it brings to the table.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 continues the legacy of its iconic cushion design, now integrating the case, screen, and bezel into one unified, seamless form for a more premium, solid-piece look. It's thinner and lighter than the original Galaxy Watch Ultra, making it noticeably more comfortable to wear, even with its larger battery inside. It comes in a 47mm titanium case, now 12% thinner at under 11mm, with IP69K water and dust resistance, 10ATM, EN13319 dive certification, and MIL-STD-810H durability ratings. The stock band has also been redesigned, dropping from 2.9mm to 1.9mm in thickness and coming in around 25% lighter, with an Air Pocket design on the Marine Band that lets sweat dry and water drain naturally during runs or swims.

The watch features three distinctly spaced buttons, including an orange-accented Quick Button for easy access even with gloves on. On the display side, it features a 1.52-inch (498 x 498 pixels) Super AMOLED display that hits 5,000 nits of peak brightness, the brightest ever on a Galaxy Watch, a big jump from the 3,000 nits on last year's model. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 packs an 800mAh battery, the largest ever on a Galaxy Watch and a 35% increase over the original. You can expect up to 60 hours of usage with the Always-On Display enabled. Charging is fast too that delivers up to 40% battery in just 30 minutes.

It's powered by the new Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, replacing the previous Exynos W1000, delivering a 30% boost in CPU performance and 20% in GPU performance over the last generation. Combined with Wear OS, the whole experience feels noticeably snappier and smoother in daily use.

Software and AI Features

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 runs Samsung's new One UI 9 Watch, built on Wear OS 7. It continues familiar Galaxy AI features like Energy Score and AI-generated suggested replies, while adding genuinely new health tools: Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, expanded Vitals tracking, and newly FDA-cleared Sleep Apnea detection.
