Anker has launched its flagship true wireless earbuds, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max, alongside the Liberty 5 Pro. The new earbuds come with premium audio features and AI-powered tools, including an AMOLED touchscreen case, improved call quality, active noise cancellation, and high-resolution audio support. Design and Case

Starting with the design, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max features a familiar oval, slightly curved in-ear shape, prioritizing comfort and a secure fit for everyday use. 

The earbuds come with both silicone ear tips and ear fins, with 5 different tip sizes and 3 wing sizes to ensure a perfect seal and comfortable fit, making them suitable for long listening sessions as well as casual use on the go. Additionally, it has an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance. 

Moving on to the charging case, unlike the traditional clamshell, it uses a slide-open mechanism and leans on a bulkier side than standard TWS cases. The main highlight is the 1.78-inch AMOLED touchscreen on the lid.

The screen allows you to swipe through custom wallpapers, control media playback, adjust noise cancellation modes, and access AI voice recording, directly from the case, without needing to open the companion app every time.

Audio and Noise Cancellation

In terms of audio, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max comes with a 9.2mm Wool-Paper diaphragm driver and supports LDAC for higher-quality audio streaming on compatible devices, offering better detail than standard Bluetooth codecs. Moreover, it features HearID 5.0, which adjusts sound based on the user’s hearing profile to deliver a more tailored listening experience.

On the noise cancellation side, the earbuds use adaptive ANC that automatically adjusts based on the surroundings to reduce background noise in different environments, such as commuting on a bus or indoor use.

For calls, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max features an 8-microphone setup along with dual Voice Processing Units (VPUs), which separate the user’s voice from background noise to deliver clearer conversations. It also includes a transparency mode that allows you to hear their surroundings without removing the earbuds.

AI Recording Feature

One of the standout additions on the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max is its AI-powered recording feature. It helps to record voice notes directly from the charging case without needing to use a phone app all the time.

Once recorded, these voice notes can be converted into text using AI, making it easier to save meeting notes, reminders, or quick ideas on the go. For now, it only supports four languages, including English, German, Chinese, and Japanese.

However, it is important to note that while recording can be done directly from the case, AI transcription and summarization require an active internet connection on a paired phone, as the audio processing is handled via a cloud-based AI system.

Talking about the battery, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max is said to offer up to 6.5 hours of playback on a single charge with ANC turned on, and up to 28 hours of total usage with the charging case.

It also supports fast charging, where a 5-minute charge can provide up to 4 hours of playback, making it useful for quick top-ups during the day.

For connectivity, the earbuds use Bluetooth 6.1 for stable wireless performance and also support multipoint connectivity, allowing you to connect up to three devices at the same time. This offers the flexibility to switch between them easily.
