Vivo has officially launched the S2 as the latest addition to its S-series lineup, marking the return of the series after the Vivo S1 was introduced seven years ago. The new smartphone comes with a large 7,050mAh battery, a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset. In this article, I'll discuss everything you need to know about the Vivo S2, including its specifications, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal. 

Vivo S2 Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Vivo S2 features a slim profile measuring 7.99mm (8.10mm for the Silk White variant) despite packing a large 7,050mAh battery. It sports a plastic composite back panel and is available in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White color options. 

Moreover, the phone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, offering better protection against dust ingress and water exposure.

Moving to the front, the Vivo S2 sports a 6.83-inch curved AMOLED display with a 2800 × 1260 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations. It also supports a local peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits and covers the P3 wide color gamut, helping deliver a vibrant viewing experience. For security, the phone features an in-display optical fingerprint scanner for convenient and secure unlocking.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Vivo S2 is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, built on a 4nm process, which should be capable of handling everyday tasks, multitasking, and casual gaming with ease. The phone is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, providing enough room for apps, games, photos, and other files. It also features an Ultra-Large VC Smart Cooling System featuring a 3,810 mm² vapor chamber to prevent thermal throttling during long gaming sessions.

On the software front, the Vivo S2 boots OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The latest software brings a handful of AI-powered and productivity-focused features, including Circle to Search with Google, Google Gemini, and vivo Office Kit for improved integration with compatible PCs. Additionally, the company has promised three years of major upgrades and five years of security updates, offering long-term software support for the device.

For photography, the vivo S2 features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary bokeh lens. Vivo S2 Price in Nepal and Availability

The Vivo S2 has been launched in India with a starting price of INR 39,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/256GB model is priced at INR 44,999. The phone is currently available in the Indian market, but Vivo has not confirmed its official launch in Nepal yet.

If it makes its way to Nepal, we expect the Vivo S2 price in Nepal to start at around NPR 63,999 for the base 8GB/128GB variant. The higher 8GB/256GB model could cost around NPR 72,999. The price will vary depending on taxes, availability, and official pricing.
