When the Vivo V70 arrived in Nepal a couple of months ago, we thought it was “the most improved midrange phone this year”. It wasn't a huge upgrade over the Vivo V60 (review), but its overall experience was pretty sweet. But a few weeks ago, the phone saw a massive price hike that put its starting price tag well over 1 lakh rupees. And now, Vivo Nepal has brought its lower-end 8/256GB variant to minimize the barrier to entry, so let's take a closer look at the Vivo V70, including its full specifications, features, and official price in Nepal.

Design and Display

In terms of design, the Vivo V70 offers a sleek, modern look. It walks away from the classic vertical camera strip of older V series models and now features a square-shaped camera module, reminiscent of Oppo’s recent designs.

The phone boasts a glass front and back, a sturdy aluminum frame, and is IP68 + IP69 dust- and water-resistant. Up front, it has a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution (1260 x 2750 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and support for 1 billion colors.

Performance

Under the hood, the Vivo V70 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which is a capable mid-to-high-tier SoC built on a 4nm process. Its CPU setup consists of one Kryo Prime (Cortex-720) core at up to 2,800 MHz, four Kryo Gold (Cortex-720) cores at up to 2,400 MHz, and three Kryo Silver (Cortex-520) cores at up to 1,840 MHz. Vivo V70 has been paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. On the software side, it boots on Android 16-based OriginOS 6, and Vivo also promises 4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates for this phone.

Camera, Battery, and Others

The V70 features a triple-camera setup at the back, including a 50MP main camera with ZEISS coating, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (or up to 100x digital zoom), and an 8MP ultrawide unit.

On the front, it has a 50MP camera that supports autofocus for sharp, in-focus selfies. Both its main and telephoto cameras support optical image stabilization as well.

The smartphone is powered by a 6500mAh battery that supports 90W charging. Its connectivity options include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and a Type-C port.
