The Vivo X500 series could bring some of Vivo's biggest flagship upgrades yet. Do these rumored changes make it worth waiting for?

Vivo is expected to launch its all-new next-generation flagship “X500 series” next month. According to recent leaks, the lineup could include the Vivo X500e, Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max as initial members, while in the first half of 2027 we may also see the addition of two others, i.e., the X500s and X500 Ultra.
Key Highlights
- The Vivo X500 series is expected to launch next month, with the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max among the initial models.
- The Vivo X500 could feature a 6.59-inch display and a 3nm MediaTek chipset, potentially the Dimensity 9500 or 9600s.
- The X500 Pro Max may pack a larger 6.85-inch display, a 2nm Dimensity 9600 chipset, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
- All three models are rumored to feature at least 7,000mAh batteries, which could make battery life a major upgrade over the X300 series.
However, for now, most of the reliable leaks have focused on the Vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max. In this article, I will discuss all the rumored details surrounding these three smartphones, including their expected launch, specifications, and availability.
Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max Overview (Rumors)
Design and Display
According to the latest leak from Digital Chat Station, Vivo is expected to make some noticeable changes to the design of the X500 series. The standard Vivo X500 is rumored to feature a 6.59-inch display, while the Vivo X500 Pro could come with a more compact 6.37-inch panel. Meanwhile, the higher-end Vivo X500 Pro Max is rumored to feature a larger 6.85-inch display.
The Pro and Pro Max models are also expected to have more rounded corners compared to their predecessors from last year.

In terms of the rear design, the three phones can have noticeably different camera layouts. The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are reportedly getting large, centered circular camera islands, giving them a more premium flagship appearance. On the other hand, the standard X500 could feature a smaller circular camera positioned toward the top-left corner of the rear panel.
While earlier rumors have suggested features such as high 144Hz refresh rates and advanced OLED panels, these specifications have not yet been confirmed by Vivo.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Vivo X500 is rumored to rock a 3nm chipset. Current leaks suggest that Vivo could use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, although there is also a possibility that the company could opt for the newer Dimensity 9600s chipset.

Meanwhile, the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are expected to rock a 2nm chipset, reportedly the MediaTek Dimensity 9600. This could make both Pro models significantly more powerful and efficient than the standard X500.
On the software side, the X500 series is expected to launch with Android 17-based OriginOS 7.
Upgraded Camera module
In terms of camera, the standard Vivo X500 is rumored to feature a 50MP main camera along with a periscope telephoto camera, which could offer improved zoom capabilities over its predecessor.
Whereas the Vivo X500 Pro is expected to feature a more advanced triple-camera setup. According to previous leaks, it could include a 50MP main camera using a 1/1.28-inch-type LOFIC sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The telephoto sensor is rumored to be a 1/2-inch-type sensor.

Now the Vivo X500 Pro Max could take things even further. It is rumored to use the same 50MP main camera as the X500 Pro, but with a significantly more capable 200MP periscope telephoto camera for long-range photography and zoom.
Although the complete camera specifications are still under wraps, all three smartphones are expected to continue Vivo's strong focus on flagship photography.

Battery, Charging and Other
Apart from all the aspects of the phone, the battery life in this X500 series is expected to come as the major upgrade. The rumors suggest that all phones might pack a massive 7000mAh battery with fast wired charging support, making it one of the largest batteries in a flagship smartphone. If these leaks turn out to be accurate, both smartphones could deliver significantly better battery life than the current X300 series.
Other than this, X500 and X500 Pro might come with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless connectivity. In terms of audio, they are expected to retain the same stereo speakers with support for high-resolution audio that delivers an immersive multimedia experience.
